1. As I Watch You Grow
Do you know how much you mean to me?
As you grow into what you will be.
You came from within, from just beneath my heart.
It's there you'll always be, though your own life will now start.
In many traditional cultures, fathers and mothers would pray for a boy who would be able to help in the field. In these cultures, the value of daughter was not understood. A father has a special relationship with his daughter as she will judge all men by his standard. A mother's task is to show her daughter the complex task of growing into a woman. We no longer live in an agricultural society and woman are free to accomplish intellectually and occupationally what they couldn't in the past. A daughter may one day play the role of mother and wife. Raising a daughter is an infinite gift.
Do you know how much you mean to me?
As you grow into what you will be.
You came from within, from just beneath my heart.
It's there you'll always be, though your own life will now start.
I have been trying to figure out how to put these feelings into words and I read this and this was it. My daughter is 16 today and needless to say this made her day. Thank you for your...

He was so proud of his little girl.
It was her very first day of school.
He walked with her to school that day,
And she held his hand all the way.
This poem touched me profoundly. I could not stop crying. August 31st will be five years that my Dad died of liver cancer. He and my Mom lived close by and he came to see me almost every...

and I care for you so much.
I love the fondness in you eyes
and your tender little touch.
I read this poem not long after the birth of my first daughter and it really struck a chord with how I feel about my little girl. I loved it so much that I have put it in her baby book so she...
My beautiful daughters, I was blessed with two of you...
You will never know how proud I am of all the things you do.
You came into my world, so tiny and so small...
God blessed me with a very beautiful daughter. When I look at her I get tears of joy and pure happiness. She makes me the happiest woman in the world with her smile, laughs, hugs, and cries....
I have this little angel. For me she left her wings.
She has no idea how much happiness she truly brings.
She brightens up my days with her smiles and her laughs.
She helps me to remember all the blessings that I have.
Daughters are definitely angels. I have two and they are the ones I love the most and so unconditionally. And when I look at my relationship with them dealing with their tantrums, their...
If you could see what I see when I look at you,
You'd definitely love you, too.
You would hold your head up high,
For you possess beauty that no one can deny.
This is so beautiful! I also struggle with self-esteem issues...my mom has passed, but I feel like this is something she would say to me. I feel like every girl should hear this growing up as...
My daughter means the world to me!
So much out there for her to see!
I'd like to take her in my arms
And show her the world and all of its charms.
My daughter is one of the reasons that I breathe in and out each day. I love her so much. She is beautiful both inside and out. She is 32 years old, loves deeply, and I hope she will remain...
She's a soft cool rain on a hot summer's day.
She makes me laugh with the funny things she has to say.
She's the beat of my heart and the air that I breathe.
This poem is beautiful! I love it! My dad has walked two of my sisters down the aisle, and I imagine this poem would touch their lives. It had me in tears.
She brightens up my days from morning till night.
Her smiles and laughter have such a beautiful light.
She's sweet and kind to all that she knows.

If you've ever met her,

D azzling is your smile; it lights up my way
A s I go about my mundane chores every day.
U nfailingly, I look forward to our daily chat.
G enuine and deep is our bond, I believe that.
For the first time, I saw your face,
And in my heart you filled that space.
I closed my eyes, and you were one,
Wow this was an unexpected thought which happens I am sure in every mother's life but rarely thought over, and very carefully placed. It left a smile on my face. Thank you for this beautiful...

I see you as a mini me...
The way you laugh, cry, and whine...

She's a joy, she's an angel - well that's what she thinks
She clings on to your heart like a plug to a sink
She drives you all crazy with make believe games
She'll have you believe that fairies fly planes
The author of this poem is extremely talented. I was very impressed by the thought of having a daughter who did all the little things she did. I had a daughter and gave custody to her dad...
She's not a baby anymore.
It's a happy kind of sad
When baby girl turns to daughter
And Da-Da turns to Dad.
I look at my child as she looks at me,
And into her eyes I look and I see
The innocence that fills her unspoiled soul.
These moments I wish I could treasure and hold.
Yep, I like the poem very much. I'm also the mother of 7-year-old daughter. It's true, the role of a mother is difficult, but when the seed starts growing into a plant then you cherish it,...
You are in my thoughts every step of my way.
Although you are grown and far away,
I know when you're happy or having a bad day.
Just being your mom, I know your way.
That was a beautiful poem. It put a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. It still amazes me that I still look at my daughter now at age 45 as I did the day she was born. My daughter also...
To my daughter,
I've got something special to say,
I wish you the happiness,
On this your special day.
Beautiful! I am sure she loved this on her day. I hope she and you are living a healthy life together with her new family.
When I first held you in my arms,
You were so perfect and so small.
You are a full-grown woman now;
And I am proud, oh how!
