Poem On The Ugly Side Of High School: Friends Turn Into Foes

As I entered high school, I saw how dirty people can be. They lie to your face, talk about you like a dog, and so much more. The thing that hurts most about it is those people doing that were your best friends in elementary and middle school. "It takes years to gain trust, but only seconds to break it."

Trust.
What does it mean to you?
It's a small five letter word,
But it makes all the difference in the world.
"Do you trust me enough with all your deepest secrets?"
A question I'm always hesitant about.
Not a soul in this world do I really trust,
Expect for me, myself, and I.
Who can you really trust?
We are all human, so we all talk,
Talk about each other,
Hurt one another.
Gossip, rumors, lies, backstabbers, friend-enemies.
So no, I don't trust,
Because in the end you always get hurt.
But the scary thing is,
Can I even trust myself?
