Short Sad Poem

Poem About The Perfection Of A Storm

I'm Laura. I don't know where to start. I wrote this in the summer while there was a storm outside. I don't know why; I just got bored. I love writing poems, short books, and I tried writing a chapter book. I don't know how writers do it! I want to be a writer, but I also want to be a lot of other things, but that's okay, I guess. I have a lot of time to think about it!

Water pouring down around me,
Music to my ears,
Washing my worries away.
Lightning shooting out from the clouds, nature's fireworks they say.
Thunder pounding, making my heart beat fast, the rush.
The feeling is incomprehensible, complicated, and sweet.
Perfect.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for sharing your poem. I really enjoy it. I just wanted you to know that I actually used your poem to write a song. For my music class, we were asked to find a poem we believe we could fit to music and write the vocal and piano accompaniment to it. I decided to use this one - hope that's alright! It's just being used as a school project, not being recorded in any other way

Thanks for sharing it, keep up the great work.
