As the sun creeps through the
blinds, my eyes open wide.
Another day has begun; oh,
how I wish that I could hide.
As I arch my back and curl my
toes, I feel soft short arms.
I look to my right as she
smiles at me so warm.
We both rise up to kneel
before our Lord,
hoping we could convince him to keep
us from things that are hard.
She rushes out the door to knock
on two bedroom doors
to tell our kids to remember
to give thanks to the Lord.
As I brush my teeth after
a short sweet shower,
I rinse my mouth as she
hands me a towel.
In the mean while breakfast is almost
ready as we all rush downstairs
as we remind each other to remember
one another in our prayers.
I give thanks as we began
to eat our breakfast.
Hugging out the door as we
say goodbye first.
Driving to that job of almost nine
years I have been.
With the help of the lord
it's almost been ten.
The day is through as we
all meet back home
To tell each other what the
Lord has saved us from.
As we lay down after we
have knelt in prayer,
I feel those short arms
and thank God she's here.
