About Kathy J. Parenteau

I am from a family of writers. My grandfather was a published poet. He taught me to write as a young girl. He opened up the world of poetry to me. What a sweet release it is to take those thoughts from the secret part of your soul and put them in verse. My hope is that my poems inspire others and reach them in a very special way.

    • Published: September 2013

    in Meaningful Poems

If I were to leave this world today, I'd want to be remembered, it's true,
for going that extra mile just to show my love for you.
I'd want for you to be proud of me and know I always tried.
When you hurt, I did, too; your tears I also cried.

Beautiful poem. It inspires me a lot with Einstein's words, "Try not to be a success but of value." It goes into my inner core and resonates a deep feeling in me, to live a purposeful life....

Very beautifully written. Enjoyed every word and I hope you continue to post your poetry. Reading this I thought of my son. You must first love yourself before you can find true love. True love comes when you are not looking. When you can learn to love yourself you are letting your light shine . It's that light that let's love find you. Beautiful!

So very beautifully written. I lost my mother 9/2/2012 to cancer. The grieving is sometimes too much to bare. We are never prepared for a loss like this no matter how old we are. How blessed I am to have had her in my life for 50 years. I too keep her memory alive. I have to, it's the only way I can except this. I write about her often. She is my greatest love and gift from God. Thank you for sharing and may Gods blessings always be upon you.

I am very touched by your poem. People can sometimes change and let us down, I understand that. I hope you and your mother work this out. You only have one mom. My heart breaks for you as I read this. I am a mother of three children and if one of them felt your pain I couldn't live with that. You are in my prayers. God bless you and help you move forward in your life and make peace. You can't change people BUT you can move on. I promise! Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. Once again God Bless
