Sometimes the light will shine through.
It makes its way to the surafce to show you
That within all this mess and chaos,
There is still a spark to help us when we're at a loss.
The gentle love from the soul deep within
Appears just at the right time, and hope it will bring.

There is so much pain all around this earth.
We must hold out a helping hand and show what it's worth,
That being there in times of need,
In times of fear, stress, hurt and greed.
To blanket us in warmth and care,
To love, guard us, to actually share.
Share the burden, lift the load,
A hand, a hug, as we face ahead this long road.

You see, we do have the means, this special gift,
And instead of passing by, we need to stop, to help lift,
The ones who find themselves in a lonely place.
We must care more for one another; we are but one human race.
How can you close your ears and eyes and turn away
From someone's call for help or a hand reaching out from where they lay?
It's a must, this thing that so many lack.
We all need a telling off and must get back on track.

A path where we all must walk,
A path where we are never afraid to talk.
It is amazing the strength that another can take.
When all you give is time, what a difference it can make.
Listen and stay still for a while.
You will be touched and honoured from their smile.
That someone in this busy world has cared,
That their troubles are less now they've been shared.

A hug or a hand will cure so many hurting hearts,
And one step foward is all it takes to start.
Please, let's try and shift us onto a better path.
Let's make someone smile, maybe even laugh.
There is good within us all, this there is no doubt.
Let's learn to spread it far and wide, freely give it out.
The next time you see, hear, or feel someone needs a helping hand,
Stop and listen, it's time for you to take a stand.

There are now three empty chairs at the Christmas table.
It's a time I find difficult, even unable

To find joy on this family day.
We are so lost since you went away.

Our lives have less joy and our days are sad.
I cry when I remember all that we had.

Christmas day was that special day of the year
Where we gathered around with festive cheer.

A time of love, smiles and joy,
A time to watch the children open their gifts, play with their toys.

The turkey cooking and puddings to be made,
All the excitement and noise and a beautiful table we laid.

But once again we feel a loss of someone special we love,
And once again we cry and turn our look to above.

Heaven holds all three of you now,
And our loss and pain is too much, oh wow.

My mum, dad, and brother, now all gone.
It hurts, this loss; it feels so wrong.

There are now only our memories that we can hold dear.
And as we say Merry Christmas, we also shed a tear.

As we look upon the three empty chairs,
I will raise my glass as we toast and share.

We miss you all so very much; now you're in heaven above.
To all of you, my family, with all our hearts, we send our love.

A world of peace, a world of hope.
Not full of violence, crime and dope.

I want all that's bad to be stopped in its tracks.
I want all that's good and filled with all that it lacks.

I need this world to become quiet and calm.
I need all the innocent kept safe from harm.

I pray that the day will soon be here.
I pray all will be protected, all we hold dear.

No more starving, illness or war.
Let's step on through, open the door,

To a fresh beginning, a place of joy,
A wish for every girl and every boy.

May the earth heal and feel safe once more.
May it start afresh and forget all the horror and the gore.

Let it begin, step by step, let the change commence.
Let's wake up and use our common sense.

Mother Earth is in pain and struggles each day.
Let's all start to help her heal, take the hurt away.

I wish my dreams would come true,
That we can start to save this world, make it good, for me and for you.

Let us learn from all our mess,
Show more care and kindness.

To show respect for all living things,
To be grateful for what all this earth brings.

There is beauty under all the bad.
There is joy under all that's sad.

We need to find that space, that key!
We need to act now, open our eyes and see.

We have but one home, a land for all,
For each living thing that flies, walks and crawls.

We have to learn to share, to care.
It's time to stop the horror, come on, do you dare?

Christmas, a time of wonder and joy,
A time to celebrate the birth of a baby boy.

A child innocent and true,
A child sent as a gift to save me and you.

This wondrous story has reached all corners of this globe.
A king is born but one who doesn't wear a royal robe.

He will grow to teach and to love.
He will spread the word of his father above.

His gentle ways and his touch will turn water to wine.
This newborn child is wondrous and divine.

His word will be placed in a book for all to read.
His words will help heal all those who are in need.

This is the gift, no price to ever be given,
And even after death he will be risen.

His cries can be heard by all living things.
This beautiful baby will grow to be king.

December is here and there's ice all around.
All the leaves are gone and the soil has hardened on the ground.

Icy breath as you exhale,
Waiting for wrapped parcels to be delivered in the mail.

Baubles and tinsel and candy canes,
Snow now settling on the window panes.

Trees all a glitter as we pass by.
Hot cups of chocolate and homemade mince pie.

Smells of puddings, cakes and all things good,
Crackling fires as we burn more wood.

Carols heard from across the park.
Lights all glistening as they brighten up the dark.

Families gather to spend this day as one,
Hugging, talking, putting right all that's wrong.

But much more than all of this above,
This is a time for forgiveness and love.

It's Christmas and a time of joy.
It's the birthday of a special baby boy.

It's about a story that's lasted throughout the ages of time,
About a man who turned water into wine.

He helped and he protected all in need,
And the poorly he healed and the hungry he did feed.

A gift above gifts, for all of mankind.
So perfect, so gentle, so divine.

A time to celebrate on the 25th of December.
A time to be grateful and a time to remember.

With thanks and gifts they did bring.
It's time once again to rejoice the birth of a king.

I wrap my mouth to shut in the sound.
I cry so much, so deep, so profound.

I cannot comprehend that you are gone,
Gone forever, so cruel, so wrong.

I cannot live with so much pain,
My tears flow like never-ending rain.

I close my eyes, I cannot cope,
I am falling, I'm on a downward slope.

I cannot stop this hurt inside.
I cannot remember, I need to hide.

I picture you, I see your face,
But no longer near, just an empty space.

No more hugs or talks or time,
No more your voice saying all will be fine.

I have no one now to turn to,
I look, I search, but I cannot find you.

How do I get through this? It feels so surreal.
I am numb, I cannot feel.

I lose my breath, I cannot sleep.
My days are dark, and all I do is weep.

People say time will help, it will heal,
This is life, it is real.

There is now a hole; I am now brokenhearted.
It actually split the moment we parted.

I held your face, I saw you leave.
Now I am here alone to grieve.

My darling dad I miss you, it is true.
Forever and a day, I will always love you.

Life can change in a single breath.
Life can be crushed when we are faced with death.

It tears families apart,
It reaches in and pulls out your heart.

It leaves it hollow, cold and dark,
Shreds your life, leaves it stark!

Time stands still and the road has no end.
The hurt you feel, no one can mend.

Your loss is beyond understanding,
And great sadness is all that it will bring.

Taken away, forever, never to return,
It's a life lesson we all one day must learn.

I miss my dad every single day.
I wipe away my tears as I fall to pray

For this pain to please pack its bag and leave.
I can't cope and I hate that I must grieve.

He's gone and my heart is lost.
It is cold, icy, and covered in frost.

Time does not stop this hell.
It's not good to remember or to dwell.

Even if I scream and shout and cry myself to sleep,
Death still holds you tight, forever to keep.

I've lost you, never to hear your voice.
This was never your or our choice.

Sometimes it's better to close off from the pain.
Sometimes it's better to just stand in the rain.

No matter what you do or say,
Death will always find its way.

But here within my heart you're there.
No one can take that; just let them try if they dare!

I miss you every single day, it's true.
Forever and always, I will love you.
