I Love You

Published by Family Friend Poems April 2013 with permission of the Author.

When I cry, you wipe my tears.
You've been there for me all these years.
When I am scared, you hold me tight.
Loving you is wrong, but it feels so right.

If you were in danger,
I'd give up my life.
Yet, I'd try to stay alive,
So I can be your wife.

You love me for who I am
And not the girl you see.
You see beyond the beauty
and the monster in me.

I want you to have happiness
With whoever it shall be,
But I pray to God
That it will be me.

If I told you I loved you,
What would you say?
Would you leave me
Or feel the same way?
