Take a step back,
Learn how to breathe.
Take a step back
And just be.
Observe in silence.
Take things in.
Despite what's goes on,
Trust what's within.

ABOUT THE POET:

What can I say about myself? Many paths I have travelled, with many more to pass. My poetry is an extension of myself - a thought, a feeling, an expression of interest, a pain, a smile. This was a beautiful poem about taking control. I deeply enjoyed this, especially because at the moment, I am going under quite a large amount of stress. There is a huge exam that includes all that I have learned from this year. This poem helped to ground me after having panic attacks. I truly admired this work of art! You have summed up the exact things I needed to do. Thanks for publishing this. You are amazing, and you deserve the world.

My brother's death changed my life. For the longest time I couldn't see death in a movie without bawling. It forever changed me. It still does. I can be walking down the street and all of a sudden I freeze. My hair goes up, my heart races. My palms gets sweaty. My world closes in. I have to ground myself. Look at the tree. Feel the breeze. Walk slowly and try to breathe. After ten years I still have attacks. It's not something that just goes away, but we find tools that work for us. Keep positive, and keep striving for life.

My condolences. What you say is true. Wise words. Thank you for sharing.
