Poem About Mom Not Believing Me

When I told my mother her boyfriend touched me, she told me that she knew what I was like and that I wanted him to. She told me she didn't believe me and told me to drop the charges or she would move my brother out of the state away from his friends. Blackmail. So here I am, stuck in this house with a pedophile so that my brother may live a normal life. I am only 17 and cannot move out.

In This House

You told me it was my fault
That I was just a tease
That I begged him to touch me
Got down on my knees
Why is he still living in this house?

You experienced it yourself
Yet are so unsympathetic
You chose him over me
Which I just find pathetic
Why is he still living in this house?

You guilted me into dropping charges
So you could live your sick little fantasy
And you go about your business
Does anyone else think this is crazy?
Why is he still living in this house?

The only reason I've let it go
Is so that my brother may live as normal
But you really have to know
That I think you are just awful
Why is he still living in this house?

Now you two are getting married
To the man that made me cry
I see now who truly matters
In your twisted eyes
Why is he still living in this house?

So go ahead
Whatever makes you smile
But for now I'm stuck here
At least for a while
Why am I still living in this house?

I know what that's like but you can be one of the first to stop it from happening in your life. If you're 17 you can move out, just go to a court and talk to a judge. You might get granted a free pass to live on your own. I tried when I was 14 but I was too young so they asked me if I had any where to go. My boyfriend was 17 and was in a foster home. His parents were very understanding and gave me a place to stay and I was very grateful to have them let me stay there. You can do it if you really try just hold on as long as you can .
