For far too long
I've been a prisoner,
Held captive by your beauty,
That I've never been strong enough
To look away.
For far too long
I've been on my knees,
Begging for your love and affection,
But in return I've only ever heard your laugh
Mocking my desperation.
For far too long
I have been your slave,
Fulfilling all of your heart's desires,
Suffering for the sake
Of your entertainment.
For far too long
I've never even realized
How much of a fool I've been
Playing along in this cruel game
You call love.
But now I know
I'll do what's best for me,
Because for far too long
I've only ever thought
Of what's best for you.
