Poem Gooodbye To A Loved Dog

Today we had to give our beloved dog up for adoption. We tried every friend and family member, but we just couldn't keep her. It saddened us deeply.

Today we had to let you go.
It broke our hearts in two.
We had to leave you at that place,
Alone and feeling blue.
The only thing that we could do
Was drive back home and cry,
For we just couldn't keep you,
No matter how we tried.
You'll never be forgotten,
As long as we live.
You gave us all the love
A little dog could give.
We'll think about you often,
And wonder where you are,
And in our hearts we'll hear your bell
Tinkling from afar.

I had a very close pet and this poem made me feel a lot better knowing she is in a better place and it is OK to cry. I had her for 6 1/2 years. When she decided to go I let her go. It was very hard but I got through it. She is no longer suffering or in pain she is in heaven with other animals and is having a blast right now. All animals Rest In Peace!

I've lost more than a dog. The first one was my present dog's mother, Pan-pan. We really cried a lot when she died. I still remember her these days, even though I was only 5 or 6 when she died. The second is Jumong, is a Basset Hound Mixed Breed. He died just like his brother Imong because our former maid let them eat chocolate. And the last was Kate, our Maltese dog which is the most expensive of all our dogs. My sister accidentally sat on her! The last time I saw her is when she was in my arms with her nose bubbling with bubbles made of blood. I cried so hard that night, I couldn't sleep! I MISS ALL OF MY DOGS!!!

This story touched my heart I also had to give up my precious pet but I had to let God have her. My sweet Tiny of five years got ran over by a heartless driver that didn't bother to even stop. She has been with God now for seventeen months and eleven days and my heart breaks every day for the loss of her but I do have her little puppy Molly and she puts the smile on my face every morning. But can never take the place of my love for Tiny.

I had a Persian cat, he was so precious to me and when I read the poem all the love a little dog could give, well it made me think of my cat gizzy. He was my little boy and when we had to take him to the vets and they said he needed to be put to sleep a part of me died! The ride home was just so lonely and empty. To this day I still think of my little boy, love and miss you gizz!!!
