God Poem

Poem About Doubts

Though I grew up in church and still go today, sometimes in my walk with God I just have doubts like I have heard in others. So this one inspired me just to get it out.

A Sinner's Plea

Is God still showing me love
As He looks down from above?
He silently sheds a tear
as He longs to be near.
To be His child is my true calling,
So why am I continually falling?
The sinners eternally cry,
For their broken wings just cannot fly.
Now I long to change...that's what I say,
But why is it that I won't pray?
What is it going to take
To finally make me break?
Where is that longing fire
That showed my true heart's desire?
What will be the final cost
If I forever am lost?
I still am crying out to be free,
But is this my heart's true plea?
I have it all right in front of me,
Still my covered eyes cannot see.

A nice poem that leads the feeling of man towards God. It is not the word that we use, not the cloth we wear or the position we hold that are important. The important thing is the feeling of God in our heart. The poet has nicely narrated the picture that reminds the presence of God in us. And such feeling keeps man aloof from evil doing and inspires to lead the life as God desires. The poet has been quite successful to put it very nicely.

I believe in God but I stopped believing in religions. I tried questioning God, I didn't realize that the reason the topic of God weighed so heavily on my mind, was because God was pressing the issue. I have come to find out that God wants to be known. He created us with the intention that we would know him. He has surrounded us with evidence of himself and he keeps the question of his existence squarely before us. It was as if I couldn't escape thinking about the possibility of God. In fact, the day I chose to acknowledge God's existence, my prayer began with, "Ok, you win..." It might be that the underlying reason atheists are bothered by people believing in God is because God is actively pursuing them.

You understood my points exactly. Despite everything that tries to isolate our spirit, he is ever-present and is not a puppet master behind a curtain. He calls out to us as his child and listens intently for the echoing return of our laughter and refrain as a parent to a child. He pursues us whole heartedly.
