I Will Be There For You During Difficult Times

We wish that we could always protect the people we love from encountering any pain, but we can't.

If I Were An Angel

If I were an angel,
I would always be there to take care of you.
If I were an angel,
Nothing would ever harm you.
If I were an angel,
I would prevent anything bad from happening to you.
If I were an angel,
I'd give you a star that would light your way on days of sadness and on dark nights without a moon.
If I were an angel...
But I'm not, I'm only mortal.
I can't see the future,
And I can't always be by your side.
I can't prevent tragedies from happening,
I don't have special powers, and I'm not sure of any advice that I may give you.
I sometimes think about the things I would do if I were an angel,
And I get sad because I can't liberate you.
Sad I am when you fall and I can't help you up.
But what can someone like me do?
I can only offer my love and unconditional friendship,
Ask God to always take care of you and protect you,
And thank life for giving me a chance to know you and being a part of your life.
Count on me today, tomorrow, and always.
I AM YOUR ANGEL!!!

Hey, I'm thirteen also. My friends are ripping me to shreds; they talk about stuff I don't want to hear and say things about me behind my back. I tried other groups but they only get worse. One of my best friends in the whole world is turning away from God because of her group. Leah, your pain is similar to mine. My friends get in these fights about stupid stuff and I try to stop them but then they get mad at me, yet I did nothing. This poem help me remember that no one is perfect and can have problems, but I don't understand. Can ya'll give me some advice?

Leah, I feel your pain. I'm thirteen too. My two best friends sort of shut me out. I don't really see eye to eye with them but they have turned against me. They don't act like that anymore. But that's probably because I now keep my mouth shut most of the time. It's all different now, even myself. I never have gotten over it. I've tried to hang around w/ other friends but it all seems more violent. I mean the pull, the anger. The person who said guys are mean compared to girls is mistaken. Words do hurt. When I read this poem it gave me some hope. I mean with all the jungle of getting a full scholarship to a private school, my doggie having a rough time, and my parents fighting, my friends ripping me to shreds and then it's all supposed to be a joyful day. All without shedding a tear. This poem really helped me.

I'm thirteen, and its been a rough year. My three bestest friends and I got into a huge fight, and made up, but have never been the same. I now feel pulled in between three totally different types of friends, and it makes me want to cry!!! Why can't everyone all just be friends? It's not fair. This poem reassured me that I'm not perfect, and all I can do is give my all, and my all should be enough for every one of my friends!
