All I want is a home of my own
I'm not too demanding you'll see
A bowl of food, the occasional bone
And I promise I'll be good company
All I want is a home of my own
Away from concrete, metal bars and noise
A bowl of fresh water, a daily walk
A warm cozy basket and maybe some toys?
In the past I've been abandoned, neglected
And unkind words have often been spoken
I've been left all day with nowhere to play
No toys and a basket that's broken
Could you be my master and my best friend?
I promise to give you affection and loyalty
Could you be the person on whom I depend?
I promise to treat you like royalty
I have no choice who chooses me
But I hope they'll be considerate and kind
This rescue home has been a sanctuary
But it's a home of my own that I have in mind
A Dog In A Rescue Home Looking For A Home
A very moving poem. Since my dog died last year a number of people have suggested that I might find a dog to replace her in a rescue home. Best wishes, Ann
