Crashing Waves

One evening, as I was sitting by the ocean, I became inspired by its strength, its wonder, and the serenity of its crashing waves. I later came to realize, that this beauty comes at a price. The ocean's vulnerability to chaos becomes the very force that creates its magnificence.

Confined from unforeseen change,
sheltered from the storms of rage,
Trapped in a state
void of all stake,

Confined from unforeseen change,
sheltered from the storms of rage,
Trapped in a state
void of all stake,
is a life of a still lake.

Unlike such a forlorn form,
is an ocean open to raging storms.
A force capable of forging stone,
with crests of waves,
its power adorned.

So remember the fate of constraints.
Open your heart and be brave.
For as a Mozart symphony
on the grandest stage,
is the sound of crashing waves.

Not Settling When It Comes To Love

I've always underestimated myself,
Always tried to humble myself,
But when it came to true affection,
Settling was out of the question.

I've always underestimated myself,
Always tried to humble myself,
But when it came to true affection,
Settling was out of the question.

I used to settle for the ones in my league,
Continually thinking that my game was weak.
So what if she's just alright?
It's just a girl, am I not right?

But this is love we're talking about,
A force larger than all doubts.
This girl could be my wife.
She could reflect my entire life.

And so when I saw the perfect one,
I thought, it's her or none.
Might as well give it a shot.
For once I'll be the man I'm not.

I chose her because she was the best.
I fell in love with her; God knows the rest.
Convincing myself I'm more than a mess,
God gave me perfection and nothing less.

Falling For A Friend

With her loneliness she couldn't cope,
And so she tore us apart,
Diminishing all hope;
I should've seen this from the start...

With her loneliness she couldn't cope,
And so she tore us apart,
Diminishing all hope;
I should've seen this from the start...

Her smile wiped my troubles.
Her eyes gave me chills.
Her beauty made me humble.
Her love made my heart fill.

I saw her true cracks
As I saw her weep.
I wanted to put her pieces back,
But I was afraid I'd fall too deep.

I was slowly being sucked
Into her beauty, imprisoned,
But I was out of luck;
This love was nonexistent.

While helping her heal
I fell through the cracks,
And as the cracks sealed.
Into the darkness I was trapped.

I gave everything to her,
Only to be betrayed.
I fell in love with her,
But in another bed she laid.

She had her flaws
I was willing to accept.
The most beautiful she was,
But again she slept.

With her loneliness she couldn't cope,
And so she tore us apart,
Diminishing all hope;

As I think about the distance,
I start to crave your brilliance.
I dream to see you for an instant.
Without you I question my existence.

When I look at the sky,
I think about the time.
How fast will it fly?
How much will I cry?

Why are you so unique?
How are you so complete?
You're someone I cannot critique,
As you always bring me relief.

To you, I can write a gig
About how your heart's so big
And how my soul you rigged,
How our hearts just clicked.

Unlike my future profession,
Your love I do not question.
I forbid you to be another lesson.
You and I are destined to be caressing.

Sadness is the feeling I get
When I think of leaving you again.
Know that you're not just another friend;
You're someone to whom my poems I send.
