Death Moving On Poem

Hope And Inspiration For Grieving Family Poem

My friend Michaela passed away December 30th, 2014. She was just 50. I wrote this poem to give hope and inspiration to her family. I miss her terribly. She loved God, and I know she is at peace.

We Are Family We Will Overcome

We are family.
We will overcome.
While grieving in our darkest hour,
We now understand we cannot be paralyzed in despair...
And remain numb.

Heartbreak, dismay, and grief surround us.
We now have been assured through the darkness there is
A ray of sun.

Days ahead will be a tremendous challenge.
We now accept, and together with our God,
We will forge ahead and conquer our grief
As one.

Our loved one is no longer with us.
We now know and we will cherish our fond memories with love and laughter,
And to our tears and dark moments-
We will not succumb.

We are family.
We will overcome.
We will stand firmly and lovingly together.
And together we will have comfort in each other.
We know it is - what must be done.
