Creative Poem

I felt like putting in words a poem about how I feel when I write, it's a little hard to really know how you feel as different poems bring about different thoughts and feelings. This is the best way to describe it by putting it in poem form and realizing that 's what we do as a poet to create a poem just jolt it down.

The Poet In Me

I'm just a simple writer
  I use not fancy words
I only write what's in my head
With words from the old school
I like to tell some stories
   Some tales and even more
Of my own true life happenings
That I have kept in store.
I like to write a poem or two
And try to rhyme a verse
And if it sounds a little silly,
Then it won't be the first
I'm just a common person
   A poet now it seems,
If that's a fact I'll gladly accept
  The challenge of my dreams.
I'll keep on writing when I can
To share some tales and woes
And hopefully the poems you read
Will be a comfort to your soul.
The world will never rejoice or sing,
Nor will I win a golden globe
But I will always be content
To pen what's in my heart and soul
