Funeral Poem

View On Funerals

I can't see the point of flowers at a funeral, the deceased cannot see them, and once the funeral is over, they are left to rot away, such a waste.

I understand how you feel Ann, it's what happens after everyone has left, those flowers are left to rot, I would rather give the money to charity. God bless

No Flowers

I want no flowers when I die
No one too mourn me
no one to cry.
I wish no sadness, at my demise
just a smile and a loving memory

who meant the world to me
are now no longer here.
All that's left is an emptiness
filled with memories
I hold so dear.

Eventually the day will dawn
when I will breathe my last.
On a journey to another world
to be reunited with those I love.

To rest in peace in heaven
far from all life's pain
leaving just my memory
to comfort those who still remain.

I'm not sure I agree about the flowers - I love to see beautiful flowers in a church. However, having fairly recently lost my husband and a number of my closest friends, I definitely relate to the way you write about grief. Very best wishes, Ann.
