My Soul

The stars in the sky,
The moon hangs low.
My thoughts are lost
As moonbeams dance through my window.
Anger and pain,
Frustration and guilt.
Alone in the dark is all I feel.
Sadness and sorrow are two things alike.
The pain subsides as I sleep away the night
But as I awake empty and cold,
I feel a longing for the pain
That swallowed up my soul.
