Daddy's Little Angel

Published by Family Friend Poems August 2006 with permission of the Author.

When you were born, you filled my heart with pride,
And I was overcome by the joy I felt inside.

As I held you in my arms that very first day,
I knew I would never let any harm come your way.

With your tiny little hands and tiny little feet,
Every time I look at you, my heart skips a beat.

As I watch you sleep in the middle of the night,
I hope and pray I will do everything right.

I know I may make some mistakes along the way,
But I promise to do my best not to every single day.

I often wonder what you will grow up to be,
But whatever you become will be fine with me.

So whatever you may decide to do in your life,
Maybe an astronaut, a lawyer, or even a doctor's wife,

I can say this without any doubt at all,
I will always be there to catch you if you fall.

And another promise I make to you from me,
Daddy's little angel you will always be.

I feel touched by the struggles and the pain parents go through. I should extend this beautiful poem to my sweet mum.

The day you were born I knew my life was complete
@by Freedom Nxumalo to Uminathi Nxumalo

I can not express the joy you brought into my life. I never knew that I can be this complete in my life. God has blessed me with you my Angel and I pray that every father out there will protect their daughters as I am hoping to protect you. I know one day you will make a difference in this world. Your daddy loves you.

I so love this poem so bad. It reminds me of my dad. The good works he has done for me and that everything I've asked of him he'll always try to get it for me. Dad, your always my inspirations and I know no matter how tough my life could be, your always there to help me and cheer me up to step up and walk ON, walk STRONG. I love you dad 'til no ends of this life :)

I loved this poem..keep up the good work. I really needed a good cry. I miss my parent so much. I was one child of 8. Third in line. I remember every time I wanted to spend more time with my dad, I was over looked...but I still love my dad. He is forever in my heart...

This is a fine poem obviously written straight from the heart and it scans really well. Good start and good luck. I enjoy writing poetry and have several dedicated to my daughter. I first started writing poetry to help me through a bout of depression. Stuff like this is really inspiring.
