  7. What Is A Dad?

I wrote this poem for a friend for Father's Day. He is not only a friend to me and my son but took on the role of his father as well. He has gone above and beyond for my son and deserves all the credit of being his "father" and for making my son a better man.

He is there by your side when things go wrong

    • By Peggy Stewart

My dad is my hero. He has been my mentor and inspiration throughout my life. He celebrated his 75th birthday in 2009. Not having any idea what to give him, I decided what I wanted to do was tell him what he means to me, so I got out my pen and paper and started writing, and the end result became "My Father, My Friend."

    in Father Poems

    For my father, my friend,
This to me you have always been.
Through the good times and the bad,
    Your understanding I have had.

  9. Daddy's Little Girl

    • By Ashley N
    • Published by Family Friend Poems June 2018 with permission of the Author.

There always comes a time in a father's life when he has to watch his children growing up without him to show them the way. A father's role as a parent is to teach his children and give them the strength they will need to grow into an adult. Most fathers don't even know they are doing a good job. I have been blessed with a great father, and I wrote this for him after graduation.

    in Father Poems

In your eyes, I see grace,
    Full of love and encased
With a hope that burns bright in the dark.
Through your love, I know God.
