About Raelene J. Elliss

Many years ago, Raelene J. Elliss’ brother passed away in a drowning accident at a popular surf beach in South Australia. Her heart was broken, and the strain of the grief was unbearable. She had no idea how to express her feelings about that tragic loss.
One very warm evening, as she lay awake, unable to sleep due to the worry in her life, she wrote down her feelings on a scrap of paper. Out of that scrawling came her first poem. That was in 1986, and now more than 30 years down the track, Raelene has written more than 200 poems. They have mainly been for her family in celebration of milestones, birthdays, and Christmas.
She developed a knack for picking up a word, phrase, or very funny situation that would inspire a poem. She calls herself the Poetic Rambler and signs her poems as such. Raelene hopes that her poems bring joy and inspiration to whoever reads them.

We all face challenges in our lives that have overwhelmed us.
It's almost built in to our human minds to take on the dramas and stresses ourselves.
Our first port of call us Jesus, our own strengths fail without Him.

Simply beautiful. A lovely way to share the truth of Christmas. I also pen a Christmas poem and share it in a homemade card to family and friends. This is inspiring.

Very touching words. I can picture my mum in heaven pottering about in a garden bed and chatting with a disciple or two. Very well-deserving of every vote.

Great imagery in this beautiful verse. It's very fitting to read at a celebration of a precious life lost. It's comforting and assuring that the Lord provides us with a heavenly sanctuary.
