November Harbinger
Brilliant lonely star on high,
In the fiery charcoal sky,
in Haiku
Warm fall afternoons,
crisp cool eves with harvest moons,
crickets singing tunes,
I'm so happy you enjoyed "Hello Autumn." It has always been my favorite season of the year. I had to think of a way to sum it up completely for a Haiku style poem and this is what I came up...
in Fall Poems
What a difference a day makes,
twenty-four little hours.
Cool chill in the air,
Your very first breath of life, I was there.
Tiny miracle of God, you appeared,
overflowing with joy, my eyes cried a tear,
outstretching my arms to hold you so near.
This poem touched my heart in a special way. I lost my mother a few years back. We were inseparable. She was with me nearly every single day of my life. Even though I was married with children, we lived very close to each other and she helped me raise my sons. We were close as close can be. She was also my very best friend. Not a day goes by, actually not an hour goes by, that I am not thinking of her. I carry her in my heart forever, and my thoughts and my prayers! I would give anything to be with her just once more. I would just love to put my arms around her, hug her, kiss her, thank her just one more time. The only thing that gets me through is believing like she taught me, that this life is not the end and we shall be together again someday in eternity! Thank you for sharing this poem!
I loved this poem. The list of things that should be given to our children to have an amazing journey through this life, it's all here! This poem contains so much wisdom! Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing.
Love your poem about fishing with your Grandpa. There are millions of fish in the oceans and ponds, but being with your Grandpa is a beautiful bond! Enjoy every memory with him; it's priceless!
Really nice poem for spring. Thank you for sharing!
This is truly a great poem describing the vivid imagination of children, and it does seem that children have an even deeper imagination when it comes to bedtime! I think this is a great poem for parents to read because next time their little ones feel the need to be comforted because they believe a monster, ghost, or an elephant with shiny tusks, for that matter, is under their bed, maybe mommy or daddy will then understand how much their child trust, believe, and know how safe they feel by just the presence of their parent/grandparents. I really enjoyed this poem.
