About Beryl Edmonds

My interest and love of poetry began at school, when I was fourteen years of age. The class were given the project of writing an anthology of verse, using our own poetry and designing the cover for our book.
I really enjoyed the project and still have the book I made.
Poetry has remained a lifelong hobby, I enjoy reading and writing poems to this very day.

As poets we may not have a stake
in the Hall of Fame
Or not even Poet Laureate
put beside our name
But there's one thing tho' all poets know
that is for certain
Poetry's in the blood since life begun
till close of curtain.

The poem is beautiful. Only love can put a broken heart back together. May the love you two have found last forever and ever.

A wonderful poem by Langston Hughes, some dreams drift off with the morning mist, others come through if one persists.....

A dream differed is a dream put on hold
until the time comes for plans to unfold
Keep wishing upon a star in the sky
dreams really do come true, by and by.

This poem truly moved me. I am waiting for my husband to come home from hospital. He has been there for four weeks now and is still in intensive care. He was admitted with sepsis, and so much has gone wrong, it's unbelievable. There's so much I want to tell him, and I don't know if I will ever get the chance. If only!
