The Ghost Of My Past
in Change Poems
Fumbling, stumbling,
around in the dark.
Fighting, igniting,
flames from a spark.

I love your poem. It has so much depth. I am using it in a speech I am giving for The New Opportunity school for Women on Berea KY. Thank you for your poetry.
Like a bird upon a branch,
She sat so elegantly;
I knew right from the start
She was the one for me.
Behind this calm face there is a raging storm,
Like a war in my head since the day I was born.
Behind this smile there is a lonely sad frown,
The chair where you sat lies vacant and still.
The air so silent, through my body runs a chill,
The sound of your laughter echoes in my ears.
Those who are near and dear to us may shine in our hearts forever like stars.
Walking into a typhoon,
Swimming against the tide,
That's just how it feels,
When my truth I have to hide.
Thank you so much for commenting on my poem. I'm honoured that you're using it for your speech. Best wishes. Lee
Thank you so much. That makes me very happy knowing it has helped someone. Stay strong, and I pray everything works out ok.
