The Gift Of Love
in Christmas Poems
There's a tree in every window
Gardens twinkle with lights
Signs are displayed in frosty lawns
'Santa, please stop here tonight'.

Back in the day when we were young,
Risking our necks on some great adventure,
Others would mock our idea of fun,
Telling tall tales or hiding Gran's dentures.
Grandma's on the dancefloor
Shaking what she's got.
If it don't shake, it wobbles,
And boy, does it wobble a lot.
Granddad's got hair on his fingers,
Hair on his toes,
Hair in his ears,
Hair up his nose.
I like the poem. It shows the love of the grandchild to the grandfather. And it's funny!
When demons pick at my troubled mind
And the passage to sleep becomes harder to find,
I close my eyes, turn out the light
And listen to the music of the night.
Granddad's got new glasses,
But he still can't see his feet.
No, his eyes are not the problem.
It's the amount of food he eats.
Grandma may be splittin hairs
to call Grandpa rotund,
but I believe she's got it right
as he weighs in at a quarter ton!
And just between you and me
and the lamppost on the...
His belly's getting bigger,
And his hair is turning white.
His eyes shine and sparkle
Like the stars on Christmas night.
Perfect for both kids and adults at Christmas - great fun. Best wishes, Ann D Stevenson
