From day one you saw me for who I was,
I smiled across at you making you pause.
It took me a bit longer to let you in,
To let the avalanche of our love begin.

My love for you started as a spark,
Now a bright, shining light casting away the dark.
I felt I'd searched for you my whole life,
Never able to settle till you wanted me as wife.

Now I have found you my world feels complete,
No longer lost, waiting for the day we'd meet.
Before you no one ever seemed right,
But then you came along and made my heart ignite.

Your heart beat echoes deep within my soul,
A symphony of harmony making me whole.
Our souls bound together by the bond of love,
Our union bought a son, a gift from above.

The weight of my thoughts are slowly drowning me,
A constant battle that no one can see.
The need to be perfect and always fine,
The struggle making me tread a very thin line.

Dark clouds are gathering in my mind,
Building and oozing leaving the light behind.
I'm tired of breaking and repatching the crack,
Every step forward feels like a hundred steps back.

I've lost who I am and can't see who I'll be,
The press of the changes always smothering me.
I tie my self-worth to those in my life,
Who would I be if you take away mother and wife?

I fear being left like loved ones have before.
So to keep them here, should I change myself more?
Give up all I am and keep drowning from the weight?
I just hope I can right it before it's too late.

When feelings lay buried, what can you do?
When the words are too hard and you can't talk it through
When the silence is easier than the thoughts in your mind
When you want to pack it all up and leave it behind.

What can you do, when the tears start to fall?
When life is too hard and and you can't take it all
When stress gets you down and nothing is right
When thoughts keep you up until dawn's first light.

What can you do, when a smile won't stay?
When the people you love seem to turn away
When the sun doesn't shine and the rains won't end
When all seems lost and there isn't a friend.

What can you do, when happiness won't last?
When your mind turns to events and things from the past
When you can only shrug and tell them you're fine
When you take a step back and draw your line.

What can you do, when you're numb inside?
When things get too rough and you just run and hide
When you push away the people who care
When all you need is to lay your soul bare.

Time is endless but goes too fast.
You long for the future, then yearn for the past.
Summer's heat quickly turns to frost,
A child grows, their innocence lost.

Time forever slips away,
With the setting sun and each dawn of a day.
The blossoms give way to falling leaves,
Another life taken; their family grieves.

Time can pass quickly, there's never enough.
You miss when it was easy; now life is too tough.
The long hot days yield to the winter chill,
A new life begins, while another stops still.

Time is something you can never gain,
It only passes and brings new pain.
A warm spring shower turns to freezing snow,
People enter your life, only to leave you and go.

Time reminds you of all that you've lost,
You try and regain it, but there's always a cost.
The warmth of the sun bows down to the cold,
A person once young, now frail and old.

Time is wasted every day,
Spent on moments that fade away.
So think carefully, think wisely about what you will do
With the limited time that is given to you.

Between earth and sky
Cities rise, old ways die
People wander, searching far
Wishing upon every star

Under sea and sun
Dolphins swim, people run
Sailing far, sailing wide
A place to be free, a place to hide

Beneath star and moon
Secrets keep, romances bloom
The nightly song a serenade
A kiss, a touch, a promise made

Through valley and under hill
People roam, seeking still
Not knowing what they'll find
But needing to leave their life behind

One day when things get too much
You'll drop everything, your technology crutch
You'll pack a bag and leave your home
Head to nature and gladly roam

Unseen, unheard, my voiceless cries
I tell you I'm fine through honeyed lies
You smile and nod, just what you wanted to hear
You don't really care, that much is clear

Unwanted, unloved, the voices whisper to me
I'm breaking and drowning, but you don't see
You just smile absently and turn away
Leaving me drifting another day

Unhappy, unpleasant, my life has become
Will somebody save me before the damage is done?
Someone to guide me into the light
Someone to help me win the fight

Unending, unbearable, these thoughts and fears
I number my breaths as I shed silent tears
I pray and I beg that you'll glance up at me
Notice the darkness, finally see

Unfeeling, uncaring, I can't take anymore
You don't even register that I head for the door
I walk and walk, no destination in mind
Seeking only to leave you far behind

Unthinking, unseeing, the world passing by
I hold myself as I softly cry
Someone sits down beside me, wipes away my tears
"I see you, I hear you, I had the same fears"

Unsteady, unsure, I begin to smile
This feeling, this stirring, it's been a while
Someone has come to pick up the fight
The voices lessen, I'll be all right

I am a bird flying high and free,
A sleek grey dolphin in a shimmering sea,
A tawny lion with long sharp claws,
And a stealthy crocodile with powerful jaws.

I am the rain falling from the sky,
A bolt of lightning, never shy,
A rumbling earthquake way down deep,
And a crescendo of wind stopping you sleep.

I am a horse, hooves pounding the ground,
A streak of red, paws not making a sound,
A tiger hunched down, stalking its prey,
And a gentle cow, asleep in the hay.

I am the fire they try so hard to tame,
A tiny spark to a roaring flame,
A dozen waves crashing on the shore,
And an unknown beast on the ocean floor.

I am the cry of the wolf to the moon,
A ripple of heat in the month of June,
A swirl of blossoms falling from the tree,
And a soaring eagle's mournful scree.

I am a river in a far-off land,
A plethora of pebbles in a bed of sand,
A jagged mountain standing tall,
And an expanse of snow poised to fall.

The call of the wild is in my soul,
A song, a whisper, making me whole,
So I must go as I'm told,
To chase the stars before I'm old.
