Short Poem About Dreams Of A First Love

It was for my first love who died a long time ago. Sometimes when I wake up from a dream of him, I just want to go back, back, and stay there. If only my mere will was enough.

You found me and you raised me up
A love so pure that angels weep,
But now it takes my breath away
To find you only in my sleep.

I had someone in my heart who never let me down at any situation. But suddenly one day all the clouds in my world burst. I was drowned by my own tears when she told me, "I don't have any interest in you." Before that moment, I was everything for her, but someone's entry in her heart closed all the doors of her love for me. This was the moment when I left everything she was interested in. She left me in the middle of the ocean, on such an island where nobody could reach me and where nobody lived.

My high school sweetheart passed away a month before my graduation. He became someone important in my life that left me not only loving memories but has left me the greatest experience and that is true love. It's been 8 years, and to this day I realized a love like that, comes only once. I truly believe our connection was real because every time I go through a tough time he comes to me in dreams and comforts me. One dream that stood out to me was when I asked him "why did you leave me?" and he turned to me and said "what do you mean baby? I never left. I'm always with you.." I can relate to this poem because whenever I see him I hate waking up, but I'm happy to know that he is around and that one day we will be together again.
