Words don't come easy
They really never have
They usually just come out messy
Leaving me with should haves
Should have walked away
Before opening my mouth
Not that I don't have words to say
It's just my mind speaks outload
Sometimes way too abruptly
Never with meaning to offend
Be careful of what is asked quickly
Because it will surely be my end
Please don't ask my opinion
Unless you are willing to accept
You will probably have to disown me
Because the response will be inept
Spoken truly with shaking
It seems I was born without
This simply thing is lacking
To stop the words out of my mouth
Putting My Foot Into My Mouth
I really feel for this poem - I am always engaging my mouth before my brain - the words come tumbling out before I can stop them. Best wishes, Ann

ABOUT THE POET:
Not a lot to say here. I just enjoy writing as a means to mentally unwind. I also like to read what others have written and look for the meaning behind the words. Not just the meaning, but the emotions/feelings that are being communicated through the words. Published under the book title "A Story In A Poem" by Michael James Malone
