The timbered giants stand oh-so tall,
and that makes me feel so very, very small.
Their shadows dance from winds that blow.
In earthly ground is where they grow.
The sun shines down upon these trees,
and with water from ground they grow their leaves.
They're richly dressed as king and queen,
while clothed in leaves of emerald green.
They are many trees of a different kind:
some oak, some maple, some walnut, some are pine.
Once there were many in forest wide,
but now there are less that which abide.
These wooden giants in forest be,
seems man can't see the forest for the trees.
