Ocean Poem

Childhood Memories Of The Ocean

The Sea was written one day when I was longing to be near the ocean, but I was thousands of miles away. My childhood memories made me feel as if I were there.

Gentle lulling of the sea,
Once again you beckon me.
Caressing waves upon the shore
Transporting me to years of yore.
As a child, your charm I sought,
Protecting me from battles fought.
Upon your craggy cliff I sat
To gaze in awe and wonder at
The magic of your shimmering tide
That restored ease and peace inside.

Yes, thank you for again remembering these beautiful days when we've taken on outings as children. All 7 of us loved these trips. Not long ago I was sad I lost contact with an older gent who was telling about his outings to the beach as a child. I knew the beaches he spoke of, and I loved them too. What memories! Blissful! Conversations to me are about my outings as a child. We loved being taken there! And I will continue reaching out to the wonderful likeminded who love the sea!

I really enjoyed this poem about the ocean. Very beautifully written, and it says so much in a nice poetic way! Thanks for sharing!
