The Perfect Night

I'd give anything for those moments,
with your face tightly pressed against mine.
Your arms soothingly wrapped around me,
how I wish I could stop time.
We look out to the sunset,
the wind rustling through our hair.
We don't need to say a word,
because we feel how much we care.
It's at those moments,
when our love truly feels unstoppable.
We can strive for what we want,
because anything is possible.
We sit there slightly shivering,
as the frigid air gets bolder.
And I feel the warmth of your chin,
press upon my shoulder.
The starry night brings across a magic,
only you and I can feel.
The creativity of my dreams,
had finally become real.
A kiss upon my cheek,
awakens the color in my face.
I wouldn't change a thing,
this moment simply couldn't be replaced.
The gentle grasp of your hand,
how it fits so perfectly into mine.
The magic of this night,
shoots up and down my spine.
The littlest bit of frost bite,
tingles through my lips.
You warm them up with yours,
such simplicity for a kiss.
I smile softly,
but my smile appears sadder.
You take one look at my eyes,
and ask what is the matter.
I close my eyes and whisper,
there is no need to dream,
because my reality has become better,
though that's the way it seems.
These moments play forever,
here inside my mind.
It's what makes it impossible,
to leave our love behind.

This poem captures how I feel when you meet the one you are supposed to be with. Every moment makes a memory and you actually feel alive when you are with them. I have been in a relationship for over seven years now but when I split up with him, I thought I was lost. I wasn't. We had been living habitually for ease and there was no excitement or memories being made at all. I met a man who had been in my life for five years as my car repairer, we had always got on and the more I got to know him, the more I was attracted. The friendship developed and now every time I see him, my heart actually skips a beat. When he kisses my lips, I feel all of my body participate. Although in life these moments are just moments, it's the right people that make those moments memories. This is for you, you colour my face and make me happy from the inside out.
