Thank You Poem

Thank You Family Poem

I am 12 years old and always have had a passion for writing. I have had a very difficult life. I was in an orphanage for 9 months and taken from my mother at birth. I have something called reactive attachment disorder, which was caused when I was separated from my mother. I have been through therapy and I am finally finding my voice and being proud of who I am. I have a more normal life now and I am truly thankful for the people in my life who helped make that happen.

A Strong Bond

Sisters, they laugh a little louder.
They cry a little softer.
They live a little stronger,
Because they stand together.
Sisters

As for mothers.
You have helped mend my faltered heart,
And helped the bond between us become stronger.
The brick wall I have built up so high
Is finally crumbling away.
You have left footprints on my heart
That will never fade away.
The memories we share are priceless.
Through the good and the bad,
You are always there for me.
Thank you!

As for the fathers,
You know I am not the girly girl in the family,
And you take that for granted.
You taught me how to hunt, fish,
Ride my bike and play card games.
You taught me that life is more than just Barbie dolls and clothes,
You gave me the gift of adventure and adrenaline.
You gave me advice on how to survive in this big world,
That reaching to the stars is the best you can do in life.
You gave me the tools, and now I am using them.
Thank you!
