My name is Amiee Brannon and I wrote this poem for my dad. I've never met or seen a picture of him, but I love poetry and I hope one day he will be able to read it. It's one of my best but if have a calling for poetry.
Hope you like it!!

17 years has been too long,
I don't know much just that you're gone.
I think about you everyday,
And if I see you what I'd say.
In that moment tears would fall,
I'm growing up and you've missed it all
from when I walked to when I talked,
from when I cried and when I tried.
I imagined how my life would be if you were there right next to me,
Watching as I slowly grew,
instead of someone you never knew
have you ever thought of me?
Same blood same smile we're family,
and if you haven't I want you to know
Your daughter's strong, independent and has a beautiful soul.

The poem 'Daddy', really touched me because I don't have a father.
My mother died when I was one and a half due to a heart attack.
I live with my grandparents now. I always have wondered if my dad ever thinks about me.
Am I relevant in his life? To me, all that does not matter anymore. I have a beautiful family and he is not needed.

But I can't say it doesn't hurt. It really does, but you have to learn how to live without the ones who never cared for you.
These poems really touch me. They tell the complete truth about life.
