So awkward in the morning, just a little unsure
A little off your game, but it all felt so pure
We knew from the beginning that this was going to hurt
From floating in the clouds, to face down in the dirt
But we jumped anyway; love chased away the fear
Made all the noise that we heard disappear
The storm moved in behind our backs, we never stood a chance
The devastation buried us, a beautiful romance
