My Promise To My Soldier

I promise to be there for you always.
Whenever you need a helping hand,
I promise to think about you daily.
Wherever you are in the world,
I promise to never let you down.
No matter what we go through,
I promise to keep you in my prayers
So that God may keep you safe.
I promise to be here when you return.
I will be there waiting.
I promise to be your support
When you need it most.
I promise to help you through the tough times,
Even though it will hurt me.
I promise to be here for you when you are in pain,
Even though it will pain me too.
I promise to support you in any decisions you may make,
No matter what they are.
I promise to be there for you when decisions need to be made,
Even though it will kill me to watch you leave.
I promise I will be there to say goodbye
When you leave on your excursions.
I promise to be there to say hello again
When you return home to me.
I promise to love you forever and eternally,
No matter what happens or where life takes us.
I promise to be loyal to you while you are deployed,
Because I know that you will be loyal to me.
I promise that no matter where life takes me,
It will never take me away from you.
I promise to be here forever and always,
Trustworthy and in love,
Forever and always.
I promise.

I know how you feel. I met the love of my life online with a soldier that's deployed. He will be back soon. I love that poem. I hope you don't mind if I share it with him. I was in a loveless marriage when he texted me. He had me at hello. We've been talking as much as we can, and he plans to send for me when he is home. My twin brother was enlisted too. Now he is in the private sector working on top secret things. So I know how this all goes. My heart goes out to everyone that has a loved one deployed. Thanks for sharing, my sweet.

So my boyfriend is in the US Air force and is soon to be training to be a PJ. Reading this poem kinda gave me a sense of comfort or strength in a way to make sure I can make it through any of his deployments when he gets out of his training.

I feel the exact same way! Kind of gave me a sense of relief. I mean it's a start. My boyfriend is going to start Army training soon and I've been a little nervous, but this gives me encouragement for both me and strength for him!! Thank you!

I understand this. My boyfriend and I have officially been dating for over a year, but we've been best friends for about 4 years. He's in the Air Force, and I hate not being able to talk to him every day or just hold each other when life sucks. I think these loves are the best; they teach you about true commitment and strength. This poem puts my heart into words. Dating in the military is so unique and so special. I know that he leans on me in a way that doesn't happen in the civilian world. It's amazing, and it's a reminder that it is all so worth it when they come home.

My fiancé is in the Army too, so I can relate. Never thought I'd be dating another military man. My ex-husband was in the Army as well. #loveofasoldier #militarylife

This poem really touched me, and gave me hope for my relationship with my own soldier. I have known my beloved soldier for almost six years now. We began talking online and through text when I was around eleven. I am now sixteen, turning seventeen this year. We have really dated for about four months, but I have never felt so amazing around anyone else. He is seventeen, and is to be deployed to basic training this June. I know it will be really difficult for me when he's gone, because I'm used to talking to him everyday. But thanks to this beautiful poem, I feel more confident in my relationship with him, and I know it's going to last. I read this in a voicemail to him, so he could listen to it when he wakes in the morning. I know he will smile after listening. He is my biggest blessing.

I look around and I see nothing but nonsense. I see a lot of people going down the wrong path but I say to myself why not be different and go down the other path because I'm not a follower I'm a true leader and I will make it in life..I know I'm only 15 right now but I have GOALS.

I read your post about seeing nonsense all around you. You have goals at 15 and that is great! Follow your dreams and be everything you can be. In return life will reward you with so much more than could ever be gained without having goals.

I'm 17 and I've been with my boyfriend for years. He enlisted and it's very hard for me because this is a different kind of pain. I'm used to speaking with him everyday, being able to see him everyday, but knowing that all that's going change breaks me down. We've been dating for 4 years, and when he tells me this from one day to another, it breaks me down. We had plans, and although it's going to be really hard for me and his family, we'll be waiting for him with our arms wide open, anxiously waiting for my man.

I know what you mean I'm 16 and my boyfriend is leaving in June. I'm so scared because I have anxiety disorders and he's the only one that can calm me. I know we can make it through this, and I'm sure you and your man will too. Good luck to you two!

Hey, like many of you I have fallen for a U.S. Army soldier currently away from me.
We are the Identical twins I always wished for. He is perfect and so sweet but we never are physically together, we have been dating for a while and I sent him this poem and I saw his face light up, he was so happy.

He is my best friend, My true love.

My soldier and I have been together for four years. He just recently enlisted. Him being gone for months at a time gets tough but when it's with the person you love the most, you can get through it. I will always be their to greet him with open arms when I see him.

I'm 22 I met my soldier about 6 years ago. We were friends through family. He never knew how I felt and he never told me how he felt. About a year ago talking over Facebook and text did each of us tell one another how we felt. We are going on a year relationship. He came home a week ago the first time I seen him in two years!! We are now waiting on him to come home for good and plan on getting married. I have waited on him the whole time and plan on waiting as long as it takes till my soldier comes home!!

I'm 18 and I met my soldier a year ago. We have a long distance relationship and he is a soldier since a month and a half. It's hard but I love him I will wait forever if I have to. It's hard for us because we used to speak everyday now it's only in the weekend. This poem kind of touched me because every word describes how I feel. When I see him every time I look at him I fall in love again and again and again. I can't describe my feelings for him. I am proud of him.
My heart my love my soldier.

I am 18 years old and I am going through this right now. He gets to come home for Christmas but is getting deployed as soon as he gets back to he's base. We were best friends for the longest time, until it was about a week before he had to leave he had told me he was in love with me. I was so happy and I still am happy. We talk whenever he gets the chance to. He is heading home today and I will be there to greet him with open arms. I will always be there waiting for him, I absolutely am in love with him!
