Spiritual Poem about Death

Poem About Dying Peacefully

I work as an in-home caregiver. I have done this for the last 10 years. Mr. Brown was 86 years old and had Alzheimer's. I was his caregiver for over 2 years. I watched his decline, from a happy family man, to a man who didn't know his wife. They had been married for 68 years. I wrote a prayer for him the night before he passed away. I asked that he go peacefully, and he did. I am thankful for that.

My Prayer For Mr. Brown

Let the angels sing him a sweet lullaby,
Words that only he can hear,
Let Your hand touch his heart,
As time is drawing near.

Please keep him safe from pain and harm,
And I pray his soul You'll keep,
Hold him gently in Your arms,
As You rock him slowly to sleep.

I have been my mom's caregiver for 6/7 months and she is ready to go home but I can't find a way to let her go. Maybe I should read her this poem to let her go. It is so hard watching her slip away from us just 3 weeks ago she was walking around and couldn't really tell she was sick but now it is totally different. What makes it real bad is doctors didn't say anything about the liver disease till it was stage 4 when it was already too late.
