Poem About Thanking A Special Friend

I met this kind, sweet, and gentle guy, who not only became my friend; he also became a confidant. I could talk with him about anything, and he would be so supportive. He didn't judge, he didn't criticize, and he listened. He gave the insight to see things that I would not have seen on my own. Yet our two countries keep us apart. I wrote this poem to help keep his spirit near, to let him know that my heart will always feel the friendship that he has enlighten upon my life.

Light Of My Life

The light is shining oh so bright
The light you brought into my life
I have searched so high and low
For my special glow
Before I sleep, I will pray
The Lord will give me that special day
I will let my spirit enjoy the night
To envision my special light
You have given me the gift I seek
To keep my spirit from being oh so weak
I thank the Lord for the shine in you
For helping me understand the gift from you
Unto you, I will say
I thank the Lord for bringing you my way
