Sweet Love Poem

We always say we love someone so much, but is that enough? We look after a car well, or we don't. We look after a baby well, or we don't. We look after ourselves well, or we don't. Why then, do we only love someone much, instead of well?

I Love You Well

I wish not to love you much,
Only to love you well.
Much is but a quantity,
but well proves quality.

I wish not to love you much,
Only to love you well.
In sickness, in anger
In love, tears, and health.

I wish not to love you much,
Only to love you well.
May our days be filled with experiences
And end in each other's arms.

I wish not to love you much,
Only to love you well.
Wishes can only take you so far.
It's doing something well that lets us win.

So for that purpose,
I wish not to love you much,
And all the way to then from now,
I only wish to love you well.
