Wandering aimlessly, I came upon a maple tree.
Strong limbs offered to shade and lend comfort to me.
Your admirable presence blocked all else from my view.
You encompassed me as my vision absorbed your hue.
Was it yesterday you stood so majestic and full?
Your new starkness feels so unfriendly, it's piercing my soul.
I've exhausted myself, trying to save the leaves you've tossed away.
Why can't this finality be held at bay?
Pain Of Betrayal
Exhausted
