I was inspired to write this for our 3 beautiful children: Shayna, Jared, and Maranda. Life flies by so fast, and every moment we're not with them, we know we missed out on something we will never be able to bring back.

A Parent's Love

A year has come and gone so fast.
We always knew it wouldn't last.
Your first year here has been so sweet.
We never wanted to miss a beat.
Yesterday all you did was sleep.
Today you're walking on your own two feet.
We laugh when you laugh.
We cry when you cry.
We pray for you every day
That God will show us the way
To bring you up right
And make your future so bright.
We pray for your health
And happiness too,
That love will always begin anew.
When things go bad, as they sometimes will,
When your troubles seem all up hill,
Remember your roots when you're all grown.
Know that you can always fall back home.
If you're happy, then we will be too.
Our biggest dream will always be
To see all your dreams come true.
