November  Harbinger

Brilliant lonely star on high,
In the fiery charcoal sky,

November evening crisp and clear,
see my breath pierce Autumn's air,

Familiar scent of chimney smoke,
families warmed by maple and oak,

Feel a change of season near,
tumbling leaves and branches bare,

Behold, Thanksgiving time is here!

Melancholy moods,
shiny jazz and rainy blues.
April sings her tunes!

Rainbows in her skies,
diamond tears within her eyes,
stormy spring surprise!

I guess we made it through struggle and strife.
I remember when we first started our life.

We climbed every step one in back of the other,
And if you would fall I would catch you, brother.

I was the sister, you were the brother.
If we didn't have much, we had each other.

We never seemed to wander from each other too far,
'Cause how could the Sky drift away from the Star?

Now you are a father and I am a mother,
But I'm still your sister and you're still my brother!

"The Word"

First Spoken, last heard,
God's Almighty Holy Word,

The great I Am became a man,
He placed His feet upon the sand,

He spoke the sun that shines on all,
yes, for even those who fall,

His spoken Love, Mercy and Grace,
long awaited the human race,

His time so short upon the earth,
though long enough to show His worth,

our sins He bore within His depth,
and freed us with His final breath,

ascended to Heaven until the last,
eternity future, present, past,

first spoken, "The Word",
last heard, "The Word",

"The Word", returns Alas, Alas!

Song birds singing, flying by
Pastel petals sprouting high
Rainbows, showers fill the sky
Inspiring beauty to the eye
Newborn creatures call and cry
Graceful Monarch butterfly

Winter fights to stay.
Sweet Spring always wins her way.
Flowers bloomed today!

Spring has final say,
Sending Winter on his way.
Her true love is May!

Spring's June wedding day.
White lily and rose bouquet.
Bells ring out today!

Damp darkness befalls as gray fog settles in.
Frightening shadows lingering within.

Footsteps echo through the black, eerie night
With scrapings and rustlings, yet nothing in sight.

Misty clouds floating across the dull moon.
Heart stopping feelings of horror and doom.

Howling squeals pierce the smoggy air.
My heart pounding harder in panicky fear.

The faster and faster I try to race,
My shaky, weak legs won't keep up the pace.

A scary, awful blood-curdling scream.
I feel so faint, as if in a dream.

Ghostly eyes glowing in bushes distant,
Getting closer and closer in an instant.

Frozen stiff, I shut my eyes tight,
Holding my breath with all my might.

Then swishing past in the chilly breeze,
Opening one eye, I suddenly breathe.

Finally putting my fears at ease.
Oh, it's just Trick or Treaters on All Hallows' Eve!

Full strawberry moon,
ushers in hot days of June,
high tides fill the dune,

hot sun rising soon,
fishing in the afternoon,
whistling my own tune!

There used to be a certain look so very long ago,
when she could look into his eyes and know he loved her so!

Now time has gone, and with it took the young girl he once knew.
She's mothered out and tired; her heart is hazed in blue!

It would be nice if once or twice that glance was thrown her way,
that his glance and smile told her he was pleased to stay!

It's not a wild adventure that she's been searching for;
it's only knowing in his eyes no one could please him more!

There's just one reason in this world a man keeps a beautiful wife.
That's because he shows her she's most precious in his life!

So if you truly love her, then make her wish come true.
Tell her on this Valentine's Day she means the world to you!

Once upon a Christmas time, not very long ago,
was a loving family that lost all Christmas glow.
Tears of sadness filled the air; no more merriment or cheer.
Loss and grief of loved ones gone, so hard to bear and carry on,
but what this family couldn't know of miracles God would bestow.
God had a plan in Heaven above to send a baby girl to love.
then within the very next year, a baby boy; more joy to share!
Now there is a loving family that has found new Christmas joy.
Right beneath their Christmas tree, a baby girl and boy!
Two Christmas blessings from above,
from heaven with love!
