21. Silence
In the stillness of the morning,
while the world was still asleep,
the sun was hidden under cover
and silence was strong and deep.
In the stillness of the morning,
while the world was still asleep,
the sun was hidden under cover
and silence was strong and deep.

Whether we speak from our lips
or from the depth of our hearts,
our thoughts and words go out
as we reach upward to God.

Lord, it's a mountain you gave me to climb,
and I've had my share of mountains behind.
Each time I've climbed I depended on faith
to guide me along with each step I take.
My Heavenly Father,
How wondrous are Your ways.
As this new day is dawning
My soul will sing Your praise.
As I read this poem, I could feel my heart opening up and allowing prayer in. One verse of the poem reminded me of a specific chapter and verse in the Bible; however, I cannot recall which...
She bowed her head, closed her eyes,
As she began to pray.
She said, "Dear God, watch over her.
Keep her in Your tender care today."
No one knows what I feel today
Or that I'm dying inside.
No one knows the pain I'm in,
For it's nothing a smile can't hide.
Travelers in the Sea of Life,
being guided by worry and strife,
floating rudderless toward desperate straights,
drifting aimlessly towards whatever awaits,
Our Father in Heaven
At the closing of the day
I clasp my hands, I close my eyes
I bow my head to pray
I got down on my knees,
Begging you, Lord, please
Take away all this pain
Before I go insane.
Hold my hand, dear Lord,
As I daily follow you.
This journey before me,
You alone can see me through.
I run to You with my hurts and fears,
Carry me, Lord, in Your unfailing love.
When no one really understands or cares,
I run to You with my hurts and fears.
Lord, when I worry about the bills,
Knowing I don't have money-making skills,
Please be my complete provider,
As well as my ever present minder.
It all seems senseless
I'm broken in a million pieces
The pain is too much for me
But I turn my face to Thee
Words that resonate in so many hearts. Well done on digging deep into such very personal pain. Keep your faith strong.
Take my hand, dear Lord
Wherever I may roam
To lead me each and every day
So I'll never walk alone
Well done, Judy. Congratulations on another wonderful poem. I'm a fan. I look out for you on the review page to see what you've posted. God bless you, sister.
I desire, dear Lord,
To cultivate the habit,
Of keeping in touch with You,
Minute by minute.
