1. The Sandpiper
Famous Poem
Across the lonely beach we flit,
One little sandpiper and I,
And fast I gather, bit by bit,
The scattered driftwood, bleached and dry.
Spending time at the beach is part of summer vacations for many people. There’s nothing else like building in the sand, jumping in the waves, and soaking up the sun. Looking out at the vast ocean has beauty all its own. Capturing the sun rising and setting off the horizon is a favorite beach activity to start and end each day. For many, going to the beach is a chance to get away from stress and hectic schedules. It’s a chance enjoy the sun, sand, water, and time with family and friends.

Waves come crashing to grey sullen shores.
Powerful and strong, it breathes and roars.
Cascading and caressing each grain of sand,
A warm embrace between sea and land.
When I took v.r.s. from my job at the age of 52, I became nervous, jobless, then useless and so on. Sometimes I went to the seashore and had the same feeling as narrated in this poem....

The sun and sand go hand in hand.
The sound of constant waves -
There's a smell of salt in the air.
The ocean is seen through a haze.
You've painted a picture that would make most who read it edger to find a beach somewhere and experience it for themselves. Your depiction is dead on.
I picked up a brush
and 80 bucks worth of paint.
After a few tries, I know
that kind of artist I ain't.
This poem was so good! I loved how he starts off in the introduction saying he's not a "painting artist." He did completely paint a picture in my head that's up there with some of the greats....

Being involved with the aspects of nature is the best thing ever. It's so beautiful, peaceful, and calming. It gives the creative person his tranquility, and it can be his muse. It's full of...
Emerald hills and turquoise seas
Endless canvas brushed with trees
That sway so gently in the hue
Of watercolor azure blue
Come to the beach
Where the ocean is blue
And the little smooth waves
come running at you
Feel the warmth from the heat
Feel the sand on your feet
Feel the cool of the breeze
Feel the calm
This is a touching poem. I've been looking for one like this to add to my granddaughters baby book while she's at the beach. Next, sandy beaches and sand running through her little hands....
You look out into the water;
The waves make the most beautiful sound.
A place you find peace and comfort,
Walking hand in hand and looking around.
Your rhyming was so on point! Very well written, and I felt like I was right at the beach. Awesome job!
The saffron-yellow sun grins on top of the beige sand,
and the aquamarine waves wash up onto the seashore.
The towering palm trees sway from side to side
as the gentle wind whistles through the beach.
Waves continuously wash away footprints,
Like time washes away, leaving you with a clean slate.
A smooth beach.
Waves wash away the good and bad.
As the ocean waves at me,
And the sand greets the sea,
The fish swim free,
And shells wash up by me.
Felt like I am standing along the sea shores. Thanks for such a piece of art. I am inspired to develop my writing skills now.

Sitting in a hammock,
the wind rocks me to sleep.
The warm sun
wraps me up
Picking up pebbles
Or seashells strewn on soft sand
Pure relaxation.
So beautiful! So Enchanting! LOVE the Imagery!
