21. My Shirt
I wear it everywhere I go,
In the sun or in the snow.
It changes colors every day.
I wear it everywhere I go,
In the sun or in the snow.
It changes colors every day.

Little boy, with your eyes so blue,
You see the world so shiny and new.
He hugs his mommy, leaves his daddy's knee.
Time to explore; so much to see.
I love kids, and this poem really captures their innocence and "no worries" philosophy. Nice poem and a good read. Good job.

Above huge hills if ever I could rise,
Beyond the gravity as Iron Man flies.
Climbing and hanging if towers I could touch,
Dashing as the Spider-Man, if fingers were such.
As a young child, I dreamt of being Superman. For me, other superhero could match him. I'm retired, but if I were still teaching, this would be an ideal fun poem with plenty to discuss in the...
Mrs. Blossom was a witch,
we're pretty sure of that,
though she didn't have a broomstick,
wear a cloak, or pointed hat.
The morning fog
- White and dense -
Comes creeping in
Through the garden fence.
Giving feedback on published poems is much more fun than trying to scroll through them looking for gems like this. Well done. Love it! Great rhyming. I can picture this as a children's book...
Famous Poem
At evening when I go to bed
I see the stars shine overhead;
They are the little daisies white
That dot the meadow of the Night.
The world is spinning
round and round
while snowflakes are falling,
bound for the ground.
I want to travel around the world for fun,
And see different lands, one by one.
But I would not like to travel by aeroplane, train, or by car -
I would like to have a magic carpet that will take me afar.
A cardinal flew past me today
Because he wanted my attention.
Cardinals mean someone in heaven is thinking of you.
Did you know that? And did you also know that
My closet is booming, something's not right.
The moon is looming, shining real bright.
Shadows dance across the bedroom floor,
Slowly creeping towards my closet door.
If I were a magician with dancing eyes,
I’d grant all your wishes for a smile.
Sunny skies full of waltzing butterflies,
New friends to share your toys (for a while).
There is a monster under my bed
With big red eyes in his bumpy head.
Long yellow teeth and a big hooked nose,
Brilliant! Everyone needs a mum and a kiss and their bear. I used to have a little dolly that scared away the monsters. Love your work. Excellent stuff.
As a small child I fancied to sail
By ocean to a land of fairy tales,
Camp in a field with Little Red Riding Hood.
Dazzling stars would fire at the Big Bad Wolf.
A ball dress, some slippers, and I am in heaven.
Believe me, pretending and dress up is fun!
Can you use your own imagination?
Do give it a try, my little one.
"Cock-a-doodle-doo!" I heard.
I really hate that lousy bird!
I got home late from Betty Lou's,
But now I've got my chores to do.
I told my mom there is a monster under my bed,
and she tells me it's all in my head.
What about the one coming through my wall?
Or the one I hear stomping down the hall?
The warmth of the sun,
Faces all aglow.
It's time for summer fun
As the happy faces show.
As I lay in bed
While I go to sleep,
My thoughts start to swirl 'round my head.
To quiet my mind, I try to unwind,
The children on the block
Are playing with chalk.
Bubbles are flying around,
Popping when they hit the ground.
This is the best poem because I have summer stuff planned for me and my friends and it make me excited. Thank you for the poem.
Famous Poem
Come, my little one, with me!
There are wondrous sights to see
As the evening shadows fall;
In your pretty cap and gown,
Hadn't come across this one before. Not quite as good as "Wynken, Blynken and Nod," but excellent for the period and a precursor to more recent sleepy time travel poems and songs.
