Loss Poem

Bereavement Poem

Bereavement to me is depression's sister. I wanted to convey how I personally experience it. I hope to reach others going through the same travails.

Having lost my husband in January this year, I really related to your poem - beautifully written. Very best wishes, Ann (D. Stevenson)

She Is Bereavement

Beneath a night veil bordered with black roses,
such a pallid, yet beauteous face,
nightingales nestled at her feet.
She's adept at knowing when to let
herself in.
She sits, sighs of sorrow with
ebony shadowed dreams-
She is Bereavement,
Depression's sister,
stars weaved in her long raven tresses,
scattering tears.
Cruelly tightening cords of thorns
around my fragmentary,
out of life's rhythm,
barely beating heart song.
