Mother Death Poem

Poem Loosing Mother And Grandmother A Funeral Speech

This poem was written for my mother when my nannie passed, it's simple but word for word captured the way my mum felt when she couldn't describe it herself. We read it at her funeral and my mum was so grateful

Your strength held us all whenever we fell,
Your heart was made of pure gold as well,
Tough times don't last but tough people do
That's what you told me and it's so true
With all of us here somehow created by you
You must be so proud watching down are you?
I'll dance one more time and pretend you are there
Then whisper see you soon as the music fades into air
Your memories now more important then gifts
A life spent with you is something I'll miss
A friend a mother through thick and thin
The one who knew it all and understood everything
Until we meet again please guide me through
Help me to be strong just like I am with you.
