I stop the breath that runs through me
Because I see your face and hope we can be
More than just friends, maybe one day you'll see
That there's nothing that ever meant more to me
Than the whisper of your voice in my ear
Saying, "I Love You," and now I really fear
That you'll never come back to me, my dear
But the hope of some day wanting to hear
Just maybe again, the soft sound of your voice
In my head, and yet having no choice
But to kiss your sweet lips all tender and moist
And have butterflies run through me without making noise
So yes, I hope that one day will come
Where I can hear your voice without feeling numb
And I can see your face without feeling dumb
Because I know that you will be all mine
And I won't feel I'll lose you, so I'll be just fine
