Alone Poem

The garden I wrote about in this poem, represents a part of myself that I keep hidden from the world. I wanted to write about as kind of decaying over time from the hurt of never letting anyone see it, and at the end of the poem I have finally come to an acceptance and let this unknown part of me be known.

In The Garden Inside Me

Do I dare let you in
the garden inside me,
The sparrows are dead their tunes left unsung,
Dying waiting to be set free,
In a prison of rusty gates that
never open,
Flowers sacrifice their petals to
time,
The wind stealing them greedily
the only one that sings in this
shrouded wilderness
Kept sacred in the essence no longer
living,
The gates are open do you dare
walk in.
