I Want To Thank You Again

©

Published by Family Friend Poems June 2007 with permission of the Author.

To me, you're like an angel, sent by God above,
To cleanse my soul of sadness and fill it with love.
You are my inspiration, and I want to thank you,
For without you, I don't know what I would do.
You've changed my life around
And turned my frown upside down.
You have shown me the way
So that I will never stray.
For this I want to thank you again,
For staying close by and being a friend.
And to end this off, I just wanted to say
That if you need a friend,
I'll be there till the very end.

I read this poem.. and it's weird to say... but it made me think of a friend I made back in 5th grade... she was the director of CCD at the church I attend... and I never thought of becoming her friend... but she helped me through a lot, and got me to a lot... all I have to say is that I wouldn't be who I am today without her.... Sandi, if you're out there.... <3 I dedicate this poem to you... Thank you for being the best friend I never had... It meant so much then, and it means a whole lot more now.. Thank you for being my friend..

When I read this, it made me think of my neighbor/friend Jackie. She was there for me ever since things in my life wasn't going so right...I can't ask for a better friend than her...she is like a second mother to me and I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything. She always tells me to stay strong and to not give up. She was there when my mom and dad split up, when my grandfather died and when my friend who was only 18 years old passed away...I am so thankful for having her in my life and I don't know what I would do with out her...

I had quit band beginning of 8th grade last year, because my ex boyfriend quit too. At the time I was in love with him. Well after a while I knew that was a big mistake. I wanted to join back, but I didn't know how to. Then last year I met a really amazing friend, his name is Jacob. When he heard that I quit and wanted to join back, he told me that I should because it was so much fun. Finally I was back in band and we became really, really good friends. I told him things I didn't tell anyone else, because I knew I could trust him. He talks to me about God and makes me so happy when he is around me. Before I met him I was always sad and depressed, but now since I know him I'm happy. Whenever I needed to talk to someone he was and still is always here for me. He changed my life around and for that I'm grateful to him. I only hope that I can do the same for him whenever he needs someone.

I have been touched by this poem because one of my best friends has returned to his country after spending one year with me in my country , we have shared the happiness and sadness together day and night.
